  • All aboard as the North Hero Library and North Hero Historical Society co-sponsor a special summer event this Tuesday, July 18th at 7pm. North Hero Community Center comes alive  with tales from the Lake Champlain's Island-hopping rail era of 1900-1961. Local historian and documentary filmmaker James R. "Jim" Jones shares classic films, photos, ephemera, anecdotes and interview highlights from those who lived along and worked on this colorful Rutland Railway route from Burlington through Colchester, South Hero, Keelers Bay, Grand Isle, and Alburgh to Noyan Quebec and Rouses Point, New York. Other historians, oldtimers, and Local Motion founder Brain Costello add to the adventure with displays, keepsake materials, and Q andA. Specially priced DVDs will be on sale to support future historical projects. See you there!
