In recognition of Women’s History Month, the Artist In Residence Gallery (AIR) and the Saint Albans Museum (SAM) are co-hosting a special evening program on Saturday, March 30. Join us in the Bliss Room from 7 to 9pm to ‘meet’ Mary Todd Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Jacqueline Kennedy – each portrayed by Terry Buehner.

“This is a unique opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate women’s history – as well as to support two local non-profits dedicated to promoting the arts and our common heritage,” said Alex Lehning, Executive Director of SAM.

Attendees will also enjoy a silent auction featuring original art from local artists, including replicated jewelry pieces of the First Ladies, a cash bar, and refreshments provided by Northwest Technical Center Culinary Arts. The Museum exhibits, including an award-winning women’s history room, will be open for tours as well.

Tickets are $15/each and are available online (www.squareup.com/store/stamuseum), at the Artist in Residence Gallery, or at the door. For more information, please email artistinresidence.coop@gmail.com or call 802-528-5222. Proceeds will support AIR’s Capital Campaign and SAM.

Artist in Residence is run by our forty-five local artist members. In addition to unique gifts and decorative items, we provide education and cultural enrichment to members of the community, as well as an appealing space in which artists can exhibit and sell their work. The Gallery offers monthly receptions which are open to the public, and supports engaging informal learning and conversation among artists, area residents, and tourists. AIR also hosts classes, workshops, and other services. The Artist in Residence Gallery is located at 10 South Main Street in St. Albans.

The Saint Albans Museum was founded in 1966, with a mission to preserve and share the history and heritage of St. Albans, Franklin County, and northwestern Vermont. Each season, the Museum hosts educational programming, historical exhibits, and special events. SAM is located at 9 Church Street in St. Albans.
