Vermont History Through Song
Wed. August 4, 7 PM
Milton Outdoor Performance Center
Bombardier Park West, 31 Park Place, Milton

Singer and researcher Linda Radtke, joined by pianist Cameron Steinmetz, brings Vermont history to life with engaging commentary about the songs found in the Vermont Historical Society’s collection of sheet music. Dressed in period costume and using the music Vermonters published and sang in their communities, Ms. Radtke guides listeners through our state’s history, from the earliest published song, “Green Mountain Farmer” (1798), through 1850 temperance ballads and Civil War era songs, to songs about Vermonters Calvin Coolidge, Thomas Dewey, and Jim Fisk.

Free admission, donations appreciated, open to the public. This event is made possible by the Vermont Humanities Council through its Speakers Bureau Program.
