Dorothy Canfield Fisher: A Vermonter for The World, talk at Georgia Public Library May 16, 2012, sponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council. Dorothy Canfield Fisher wrote often about Vermont, but she was a writer beyond our region who communicated to the world and to the human spirit. In her 40 books of fiction and non-fiction she attacked discrimination, intolerance, brutality and fraud. Her writing is vibrant and heartening. This living history presentation by Helene Lang showcases her life and work.

Milton Conservation Commision member Laurie DiCesare will lead a meandering paddle around Lake Arrowhead and the Lamoille River, stopping to check out the wildlife (especially dragonflies) along the way.
