"Lurking in the Trees" is a film produced by the Nature Conservancy that documents to Asian Longhorned Beetle infestation that was detected in Worcester, MA in 2008. To date, Worcester, MA has lost over 27,000 trees in a 76 square mile quarantine zone. These insects have a taste for all species of maple trees along with many other hardwoods, which is why they are a real threat to Vermont's woodlands if (and when) they enter the state. For more information contact the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, 103 S. Main Street, Waterbury, VT 05671 or call 802-505-0200.
