Ethan Allen Homestead 2015-09-13

Author Anne Emerson explores twenty-two letters written by her great-great-grandfather, Erastus Hopkins, to his daughters in the 1850’s and 1860’s. Buried for 150 years in the archives of the Massachusetts Historical Society, the letters became the driving force in the author’s quest to figure out who this forgotten man was. Along the way, they become a bridge for the author’s understanding of her own life story and her old New England family. Stuck In Vermont 0095

Jericho artist and muralist Mary Lacy has been leaving her mark on downtown Burlington. Her origami-inspired wildlife murals decorate the interior of the Moran Plant and a large brick wall across from City Hall Park. Now Mary is tackling her biggest commission to date, the 32 foot silos outside Dealer.com's Pine Street headquarters. Eva spends the afternoon with Mary in her scissor lift as she rushes to finish painting the silos for the South End Art Hop this weekend. Music: The Cush, Between the Leaves, "The Deer and the Owl" and Francesca Blanchard, Deux Visions, "Le Blues"
