LCATV IS HIRING FIELD PRODUCERS

Lake Champlain Access Television (LCATV) is a Community Media Center serving eight towns throughout three counties in northwestern Vermont. LCATV Field Producers are responsible for high-quality audio/video coverage of field assignments as well as some field support, in-studio support, and post-production work. Included within these responsibilities is the ability to independently organize, transport, and operate the equipment needed for each assignment.

Field producers: attend and capture regularly scheduled production assignments, including public meetings and community events; maintain general knowledge of videography aesthetics and audio recording; possess the ability to manually operate production equipment and troubleshoot and resolve minor technical and mechanical issues; provide post-production support on special projects as needed; provide support for multi-camera and in-studio productions; and attend an annual review meeting.

Qualified applicants should have some knowledge of media production hardware and software, Community Media, and Windows-based computer operations. Other preferred skills and abilities include: oral and written communications, organization, project management, and a track record of working with diverse individuals and groups.

Requirements of the position include: prolonged periods of computer work, including typing at a keyboard; the ability to move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and hold a video camera weighing up to 10 pounds for a prolonged period of time; a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation; and availability during evening hours and some weekends.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekends as needed
